After a whirlwind week of rumors and speculation about his marriage, Keith Urban performed his first concert since Nicole Kidman filed for divorce. And if you were hoping he'd drop some clues as to what happened to one of Hollywood's most enduring couples, well, you're in luck—sort of.
After news that Keith had been switching up lyrics to the Nicole-inspired track “Fighter” for months, fans were on alert for any switch up at his first show post-split. But instead of fanning the flames, Keith seemed to try to keep from inciting any more drama. He kept the family photo of Nicole and their two daughters in a slideshow projected during his performance of “Heart Like a Hometown”—it's been a mainstay on his current High and Alive World Tour.
Keith did, however, make a few subtle changes. As reported by TMZ, the country singer has officially ditched his wedding ring. And he also reportedly kept “Fighter” off the set list and tweaked the lyrics to the breakup song “You'll Think of Me.” While the song usually goes, “Take your space and take your reasons,” he sang, “Your bullshit reasons.” (Admittedly not a huge shift, but notable nonetheless.)
Perhaps most eyebrow-raising was the absence of a certain guitar player who had been subbing in on his tour. As rumors continue to swirl around Keith and Maggie Baugh, who was on the receiving end of some of his changed “Fighter” lyrics while performing with him, Keith's first post-divorce concert was surprisingly Maggie-free. He was instead joined by his usual utility player, Natalie Stovall.
News of Nicole and Keith's split first broke on Monday, Sept. 29, with Nicole promptly filing for divorce on Tuesday. Neither stars have spoken publicly about their breakup, but reports claim that Nicole had hoped to avoid a divorce while Keith has already moved on.
